Daily boss battle ·

One boss team. One day. One shot.

Every player on the planet fights the same six-opponent team today, built from the UTC date with no server in the loop. Draft six from 1025 species, pick a lead, and take turns until one side is out of Pokémon. Come back tomorrow for a brand-new board.

Today's board

The boss team

Identical for everyone playing on this UTC date — that is the whole point of the format. Study it, then build the answer.

        The rules, in full

Every UTC day the page derives one seed from the date string — 20261013, for example — runs it through a mulberry32 generator, and draws a boss team of six Pokémon from the 1025-species roster. The draw is shuffled with that generator, prefers six different primary types and a base-stat total of at least 420, and is sorted strongest first. Nothing is fetched and nothing is stored on a server, so anyone who loads the page on the same UTC date sees exactly the same six opponents. A separate stream seeded from the same date drives accuracy rolls, critical hits and the damage roll, so the fight itself is reproducible too.

You answer the board by drafting six Pokémon of your own with the search box. Type any part of a name, add up to six species, then choose your lead: the Pokémon that starts on the field. You can see the boss team before you commit, which turns the draft into a puzzle — cover the types you are about to face, and remember that a slow, bulky lead survives longer than a fast, fragile one. When your six are set, press start; the daily run is locked to one attempt for the day, and practice runs use the same board with a fresh seed and no lock.

Battles are turn based. Every turn you pick one of your active Pokémon's four moves or switch to another member of your team. Both sides commit, switches resolve first, and then the faster Pokémon attacks: speed decides the order, with exact ties broken on base-stat total, then dex number. Each Pokémon has four moves drawn from its own types, including a status move when its type has one, plus a fallback.

Damage follows the classic formula: ((2 × level ÷ 5 + 2) × power × attack ÷ defence) ÷ 50 + 2, then multiplied by type effectiveness, a 1.5× same-type attack bonus, a random roll between 0.85 and 1.00, a 1.5× critical hit on a 1-in-16 roll, and 0.5× if the attacker is burned and the move is physical. Special moves use special attack against special defence instead. Moves can miss: accuracy is rolled before damage, and a miss is logged instead of a number.

Two status effects are in play. Burn halves the physical damage its victim deals and chips 1/16 of maximum HP at the end of every turn. Paralysis halves speed for turn order and gives a 25% chance that the Pokémon cannot move at all. A fainted Pokémon must be replaced — your replacement is a free switch, and the boss sends out its next Pokémon automatically. Beat all six opponents to win; if all six of yours go down, or the battle runs past 100 turns, the boss holds the day.

When it is over you get the outcome, the turn count, how much HP you finished with, and a share line that encodes every move outcome as a row of emoji: green for a hit, blue for super effective, red for resisted, black for no effect, yellow for a critical hit, white for a miss, purple for a status landing, arrows for switches, skulls for faints. It never names a species or a move, so you can post your run without revealing the team you built or the answer you found.
